Obverse description Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Emperor Philip I (Philip the Arab) facing right, depicted from behind in the characteristic three-quarter rear view. The imperial effigy displays paludamentum and lorica, consistent with the military iconography of the period. The encircling Latin legend runs along the periphery of the flan, partially visible on this worn specimen.
