Obverse description Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Philip II as Caesar facing right, portrayed in three-quarter rear view, with paludamentum visible over the left shoulder. The youthful effigy displays the characteristic military dress of an imperial prince of the mid-third century AD. The encircling Greek legend names the prince with his full titulature, disposed around the bust within the field.
