| Obverse description | Bare-headed, draped and cuirassed bust of Maximus, Caesar, facing right and viewed from the rear, with the paludamentum visible across the shoulder. The effigy is rendered in the provincial style characteristic of the Alexandrian Troas mint, with a dotted border encircling the field. The Latin legend IVL V MAXIMVS C runs around the periphery, identifying the prince by his Julian nomen and Caesarian title. |
