Obverse description Bare-headed portrait bust of Emperor Marcus Aurelius facing right, rendered with his characteristically full, long beard styled in tight curls and flowing locks, consistent with his mature imperial portraiture. The effigy displays strong, idealized facial modelling typical of Antonine provincial coinage. A circular Greek legend surrounds the portrait in the field, reading partially ΑΥ Κ Μ ΑΥΡ ΑΝΤΩΝΕΙΝ. The flan is irregularly struck, with the legend partially off-flan at the periphery.
