| Obverse description | Laureate bust of Marcus Aurelius facing right, with traces of drapery visible at the truncation, rendered in the provincial Alexandrian style. The effigy displays characteristic features of the emperor including a short beard and curled hair beneath the laurel wreath. The Greek legend encircles the portrait in the field, reading from upper left around the periphery. The flan is irregular with some edge cuts, and the surfaces show an olive-brown patina with traces of green encrustation. |
