Reverse description An octastyle temple with eight columns is depicted in frontal elevation, enclosing a cult statue of Artemis of Ephesus standing facing, wearing the kalathos (cylindrical headdress) and the characteristic multimammia (or festooned) costume of the Ephesian goddess. A globe or disk ornament is visible in the pediment of the temple. The surrounding Greek legend records the issuing magistrate and civic ethnic in the genitive.
