Reverse description The ethnic legend ΔΟΛΙΧΑΙΩΝ, identifying the civic authority of the Dolicheans, is inscribed across the field in three lines within a closed laurel wreath. The wreath, formed of carefully rendered individual leaves tied at the base with a ribbon, frames the inscription as the sole reverse type, a design common to smaller provincial civic bronzes of the Antonine period. The overall style is consistent with the output of the Syrian mint at Doliche in Commagene.
