| Reverse description | Winged Nemesis standing left, her right hand plucking the chiton at the neckline in the characteristic gesture of retribution, and her left hand holding a bridle or cubit-rule; at her feet to the left lies a wheel, a further attribute of the goddess symbolising fate and retribution. The figure is rendered in the standard provincial Hellenistic iconographic tradition for Nemesis. The ethnic legend ϹΥΝΝΑΔΕΩΝ (of the Synnadeans) is inscribed around the reverse field. |
