Obverse description Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of the emperor Macrinus facing right, depicted from the rear in the characteristic Bithynian provincial style. The effigy displays the paludamentum fastened at the shoulder and the segmented cuirass, rendered with typical provincial workmanship. The circumferential Greek legend reads in the field around the portrait, identifying the emperor by his full imperial titulature. The flan is irregular in shape, consistent with provincial bronze coinage of the Severan period.
