| Reverse description | Turreted and cuirassed bust of Tyche, the city goddess of Alexandria Troas, facing right. Tyche wears a mural crown (turreted helmet) symbolising the city's fortifications, and her military cuirass reflects the martial character often attributed to this colonial foundation. She bears a vexillum — a Roman military standard — over her shoulder, upon which the colonial title AV CO is inscribed, abbreviating the designation of Colonia Augusta Alexandria Troas. The surrounding legend reads TROAS, identifying the issuing city, consistent with the colonial bronze coinage of the Troas region under Gallienus. |
