| Obverse description | Youthful diademed and draped bust of the personified Senate (ΙΕΡΑ ϹΥΝΚΛΗΤΟϹ) facing left, rendered in the Hellenistic provincial style with finely engraved wavy hair and drapery folds visible at the truncation. The circular Greek legend surrounds the effigy, reading ΙΕΡΑ ϹΥΝΚΛΗΤΟϹ ΑΓΡ ΑΛΙΗΝ, identifying both the Senate and the city of Alia. The coin exhibits a dark brown patina with areas of earthen encrustation consistent with long burial, and the flan shows a characteristic irregular edge with a notable chip. |
