Reverse description Dionysus, the patron deity of Teos, stands facing left in a relaxed contrapposto pose, tilting a cantharus downward to pour its contents over a panther crouching at his feet. In his left hand he holds a thyrsus, the emblematic staff of the Dionysiac cult. The composition reflects the deep religious association between Teos and Dionysus, well attested in the city's coinage tradition. The encircling legend names the issuing magistrate and the civic community. The reverse type is executed in the conventional style of mid-third-century Asia Minor provincial bronze coinage.
