Obverse description Diademed and draped bust of Empress Salonina (Cornelia Salonina) facing right, her hair elaborately coiffed and bound with a diadem, the drapery visible at the truncation of the shoulder. The effigy is rendered in the provincial style characteristic of Bithynian civic coinage of the mid-third century AD. The Greek legend ΚΟΡΝ ϹΑΛΩΝΕΙΝΑ curves around the bust, identifying the empress by her full name Cornelia Salonina.
