Obverse description Draped bust of the personified Senate (ΙΕΡΑ ϹΥΝΚΛΗΤΟϹ) facing right, depicted in the manner of a veiled or turreted female effigy typical of civic Antonine-era coinage in Asia Minor. The legend is disposed around the periphery of the obverse field in Greek characters. The portrait exhibits the stylised, somewhat provincial engraving characteristic of the Smyrnaean conventus workshops of the mid-third century AD.
