| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Valerian I facing right, depicted in three-quarter view from the front, with paludamentum visible over the cuirass. The imperial effigy displays the characteristic military presentation typical of mid-3rd century provincial coinage. The Greek legend encircles the bust in the field, identifying the emperor by his full titulature. The flan is irregular and slightly worn, consistent with hammered provincial bronze production at Amisus. |
