| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Volusian facing right, depicted from the rear, with the radiate crown's spikes clearly visible. The bust displays military dress with paludamentum draped over the left shoulder. A Greek legend encircles the portrait, reading the full imperial titulature of Gaius Vibius Afinius Gallus Veldumnianus Volusianus. The engraving is characteristic of provincial Bithynian workshop style of the mid-third century AD. |

| Reverse description | Poseidon standing to the right, nude but for a chlamys, holding a long trident in his right hand and a dolphin in his left hand. His left foot rests upon the prow of a galley, a motif referencing the city of Prusa's maritime connections and divine patronage. The city ethnic legend ΠΡΟΥϹΑΕΩΝ appears in the field, identifying the issuing civic authority. The composition is typical of provincial bronze coinage of Bithynia under the Roman Empire. |
