Obverse description Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Volusian facing right, portrayed in three-quarter view seen from the rear, with paludamentum visible over the left shoulder. The imperial effigy is rendered in the provincial style characteristic of Mysian civic coinage of the mid-third century AD. The Greek legend ΑΥ ΟΥΟΛΟΥϹΙΑΝΟϹ encircles the bust, identifying the emperor by his abbreviated title and name.
