Obverse description Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Severus Alexander facing right, rendered in three-quarter view from the rear, a common provincial treatment of the imperial portrait. The effigy displays the characteristic youthful features of the emperor, with the laurel wreath denoting imperial and military authority. The surrounding Greek legend runs clockwise around the periphery of the flan. The strike is typical of a provincial mint, with moderate relief and an irregular flan edge.
