The figure is rendered in the conventional standing pose found on Sardian civic bronzes of the Severan period, reflecting the important local veneration of this deity in Lydia. The encircling legend proclaims Sardes' prestigious status as a twice-neocorate city, an honorific title granted for the establishment of two imperial cult temples. |
