Obverse description Laureate, draped bust of Severus Alexander facing right, the emperor portrayed with youthful features typical of his coinage. The circular Greek legend surrounds the imperial effigy, running from left to right around the periphery of the flan. The portrait is rendered in the provincial style characteristic of the Caesarean mint, with the laurel wreath clearly delineated.

Reverse description The reverse field is entirely occupied by a four-line Greek inscription arranged horizontally across the flan, reading ΜΗΤΡΟΠΟΛΕΩϹ / ΚΑΙϹΑΡΙΑϹ / ΕΤ / Ϛ, denoting the metropolis of Caesarea and the regnal year 6 (ΕΤ Ϛ), corresponding to 226-227 AD. The text fills the available field without any figurative type, a distinctive feature of certain Cappadocian civic issues. The lettering is bold and evenly spaced within a slightly irregular border.
