Obverse description Radiate head of Emperor Septimius Severus facing right, depicted with characteristic short beard and radiating crown. The portrait is rendered in the provincial Greek style typical of Asia Minor civic coinage of the Severan period. A Greek imperial legend encircles the effigy in the field, identifying the emperor by his titles. The flan is irregular and slightly rough, consistent with provincial hammered production of the late 2nd to early 3rd century AD.
