| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Gaius Julius Verus Maximus Caesar facing right, seen from behind, with the paludamentum visible over the left shoulder. The portrait is rendered in the provincial style typical of the Ionian mint workshops of the mid-third century AD. The Greek legend surrounds the bust within the coin field, distributed across both sides of the effigy. The surface shows heavy patination consistent with prolonged burial, partially obscuring the finer details of the cuirass ornamentation. |
