| Obverse description | Bare-headed, draped and cuirassed bust of Diadumenian Caesar facing right, depicted from the rear in three-quarter perspective. The youthful effigy is rendered in the typical provincial style of the Ephesian mint, with the drapery folds and cuirass detailing characteristic of early third-century Asia Minor bronzes. The encircling Greek legend identifies the subject as Diadumenian Caesar, son and co-ruler of Macrinus. The portrait occupies the central field with the inscription disposed around the periphery. |
