| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Gallienus facing right, depicted from behind, with the paludamentum visible over the left shoulder and the cuirass articulated in relief. The effigy is rendered in the provincial Greek style characteristic of Smyrnaean civic coinage of the mid-third century AD. The circumferential Greek legend runs around the obverse field, identifying the emperor by his full titulature. |
