Obverse description Draped bust of Athena facing right, wearing a crested Attic helmet. The goddess is depicted in the classical Athenian tradition, with the helmet crest visible above the brow and drapery indicated at the shoulder. The field is plain, with no legend present on the obverse. The style is consistent with provincial bronze coinage of Athens struck under Gallienus during his sole reign.

Reverse description Athena advancing to the right in a dynamic martial pose, her head turned back to the left. Her left arm bears a round shield by its strap while the left hand grasps a long spear horizontally, and her right arm is extended outward to the right. The figure is rendered in the standard Athenian civic style characteristic of provincial issues of the third century AD. The ethnic legend ΑΘΗΝΑΙΩΝ ('of the Athenians') appears in the field.
