Obverse description Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Elagabalus facing right, depicted from behind, with the paludamentum visible over the left shoulder and the cuirass rendered in relief. The effigy displays the characteristic youthful features associated with this emperor. The circular Greek legend surrounds the bust and runs along the rim of the flan.
