Obverse description Laureate and draped bust of Emperor Elagabalus facing right, rendered in the provincial Greek style typical of Bithynian coinage. The imperial effigy displays a radiate laurel wreath crown with detailed leaf work visible despite heavy patination. The surrounding Greek legend is distributed around the periphery of the flan. The portrait shows the youthful features characteristic of Elagabalus's early reign depictions.

Reverse description Demeter standing facing with head turned to the left, rendered in a hieratic frontal pose typical of provincial Roman bronze coinage. In her outstretched right hand she holds ears of corn extended over a flaming altar, while her left hand grasps a tall sceptre or torch around which a serpent coils upward. The ethnic legend ΝΙΚΑΙΕΩΝ appears in the field around the figure, identifying the issuing city of Nicaea.
