Reverse description Hermes, messenger of the gods, depicted standing facing with head turned to the right, his nude or semi-draped figure rendered in the Hellenistic tradition favored by Bithynian civic mints. He holds a caduceus in one hand and a chlamys draped over the other arm. The Greek civic legend ΚΑΛΧΑΔΟΝΙΩΝ surrounds the figure in the field, identifying this as an issue of the city of Chalcedon.
