Reverse description Tyche, the tutelary deity of Ephesus, stands facing with head turned to left, wearing a kalathos (modius-like headdress symbolising prosperity) upon her head. She holds a ship's rudder in her right hand and a cornucopia in her left, emblems of good fortune and abundance. The reverse legend encircles the figure, proclaiming the city's prestigious fourfold neocorate status. The composition is characteristic of civic bronze coinage struck at Ephesus under the Severan dynasty.
