Reverse description Apollo depicted standing, facing the viewer, holding a laurel branch in one hand and a patera in the other, with his arm resting upon a lyre that is supported by a small votive statue or column. The composition reflects the Apolline cult prominent at Alexandria Troas, where Apollo Smintheus was a principal deity. The colonial legend COL AVG TROAD is distributed around the field, identifying the issuing city as Colonia Augusta Troas.
