| Obverse description | Laureate bust of Commodus with long beard, wearing cuirass and paludamentum, depicted to the right and seen from the rear in the characteristic 'heroic' three-quarter rear view common to provincial bronzes of this period. The imperial effigy is rendered in a vigorous provincial style, with the drapery folds of the paludamentum visible over the left shoulder. The obverse legend ΑΥ ΚοΜοΔοϹ runs around the bust, identifying the emperor in abbreviated Greek titulature. |
