| Obverse description | Bare head of Emperor Claudius facing left, rendered in a naturalistic provincial style with finely engraved hair. The imperial portrait is set within a beaded border, with the Greek legend ΤΙ ΚΛΑΥΔΙΟΣ ΚΑΙΣΑΡ ΓΕΡΜΑ ΣΕΒΑ (Tiberius Claudius Caesar Germanicus Augustus) arranged around the periphery. The bust is relatively high-relief with bold facial features characteristic of Cretan civic coinage of the early Julio-Claudian period.
