| Reverse description | Athena standing left in full figure, clad in chiton and aegis, extending her right hand to hold a patera and resting her left arm upon a large round shield set on the ground beside her; an upright spear leans against her left side. The composition follows the standard Promachos-derived type common in Mysian civic bronzes of the Antonine period. The reverse legend ΕΠΙ ΦΑΥϹΤοΥ ΓΕΡΜΗΝΩ, naming the magistrate Faustus and the civic ethnic, is distributed around the field. The style is consistent with local die-cutting traditions of the Pergamene conventus. |
