Reverse description The lunar deity Mên depicted standing to the left, wearing the distinctive Phrygian cap, his chlamys draped about him. In his right hand he holds a pine cone, and in his left an elongated sceptre; a crescent appears behind his shoulders, the defining attribute of this Anatolian god. The dedicatory legend surrounding the type records the name of a local magistrate (Skopelianus) and his act of dedication to the people of Temenothyrae. The composition is characteristic of the Phrygian civic bronze tradition under Antoninus Pius.
