| Obverse description | Bare head of Antoninus Pius facing right, rendered in the characteristic Antonine portraiture style with softly modelled facial features and layered curls. The effigy is set within a circular Greek legend occupying the periphery of the flan. The portrait shows the emperor without laurel wreath or diadem, consistent with early issues of his reign. The surrounding inscription reads ΑΥΤ Κ(ΑΙ) ΑΔΡ(Ι) ΑΝΤΩΝΕΙΝΟϹ ϹΕΒ, acknowledging his imperial and Augustan titles. |
