| Reverse description | Turreted bust of Cybele facing right, the goddess depicted wearing a distinctive mural crown with battlements, identifying her as the tutelary deity of Pessinus, a major cult center of Cybele in ancient Galatia. The bust is rendered in a draped fashion, and the surrounding Greek legend ΕΠΙ Ν ΠΟΜΠΗΙΟΥ ΚΟΛΛΗΓΑ, referencing the local magistrate Pompeius Kollega, runs around the periphery of the irregular flan. |

| Additional information |
Pessinus was among the most politically charged cities in Galatia — home to the great sanctuary of Cybele, the Magna Mater, whose priests had maintained extraordinary autonomy through successive Hellenistic and Roman administrations. The magistrate named in the legend, N. Pompeius Collega, served as the Roman official overseeing the region during the mid-Flavian period, a time when Vespasian was aggressively reorganizing provincial administration across Asia Minor to consolidate revenues after the civil wars of 69 AD.
Bronze civic issues from Pessinus are genuinely scarce in any condition. The city's mint was intermittently active at best.
