Obverse description Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Gallienus facing right, depicted from the rear in the characteristic three-quarter back view favored by provincial die-cutters of the period. The emperor's radiate laurel wreath, scale-pattern cuirass, and paludamentum are rendered with typical provincial workmanship. The Greek legend Π Λ ΓΑΛΛΗΝΟϹ ϹΕΒ runs around the periphery, abbreviated from Publius Licinius Gallienus Augustus. The flan is irregular and the surfaces show the characteristic olive-green and reddish-brown patina of Bithynian provincial bronze.
