Reverse description Central type depicting a dolphin flanked on either side by a tunny fish, all shown horizontally within the field, serving as a maritime homonoia type symbolising the concord between the cities of Nicaea and Byzantium. The arrangement of the three fish emphasises the naval and mercantile character of the alliance. A two-line Greek legend in the field and around the periphery identifies both civic communities and proclaims their concordance. The reverse field is heavily worn and encrusted, though the outlines of the central marine devices remain discernible.
