| Obverse description | Radiate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Valerian I facing right, portrayed from the rear in the characteristic three-quarter back view typical of mid-third-century provincial Roman coinage. The radiate crown, composed of pointed rays, is clearly rendered above the imperial effigy. The paludamentum drapes over the left shoulder, with the cuirass visible beneath. The Latin legend IMP C VALERIANVS A runs along the outer border of the flan. |
