Obverse description Bare or laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Valerian II as Caesar facing right, presented from a rear three-quarter perspective, as was customary for junior imperial portraiture in the mid-3rd century. The legend encircles the effigy in the border of the field, worn but partially legible. The portrait style is consistent with Mysian provincial coinage issued under the joint reign of Valerian I and Gallienus.
