| Obverse description | Laureate head of Emperor Trajan facing right, depicted in the conventional Roman imperial portrait style. The emperor's effigy is rendered with characteristic strong features, the laurel wreath clearly distinguishable encircling the head. A Greek legend surrounds the portrait, abbreviated to include his full imperial titulature, disposed around the field. The flan is irregular and the surfaces are worn, consistent with circulation use. |
