Obverse description Bare head of the Emperor Tiberius facing right, rendered in the provincial style typical of Alexandrian civic coinage. The portrait displays the characteristic short hair and strong profile associated with Tiberian imperial portraiture. The fields are plain and devoid of legend, consistent with early Julio-Claudian provincial issues from Egypt.

Reverse description A hippopotamus advancing to the right, depicted in profile with its characteristic bulky body and short legs, a distinctively Egyptian religious and symbolic motif. Above the animal appears the Greek legend ΤΙΒΕΡΙΟΥ, identifying the reigning emperor.
