Obverse description Bare laureate head of Emperor Severus Alexander facing right, with short-cropped hair rendered in fine parallel strands beneath the laurel wreath. The portrait displays the characteristic youthful features of the emperor, with a smooth, slightly rounded face. The Greek legend runs around the periphery of the flan, partially visible on the irregular edge. The style is consistent with provincial bronze coinage struck at Cyzicus during the Severan period.
