| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Severus Alexander facing right, rendered in three-quarter view from the rear. The emperor's portrait is executed in the provincial style typical of the Arabian mint at Bostra, with the laureate wreath clearly delineated around the head. The encircling legend gives the imperial titulature in Latin. The overall treatment reflects the provincial die-cutting traditions of the Severan period in the eastern empire. |
