Additional information

Saitta was a minor Lydian city in the Hermus valley whose civic coinage under Severus Alexander reflects the broader explosion of Greek imperial bronze production during the Severan period — a time when hundreds of Asia Minor cities exercised their minting privileges simultaneously, each competing for imperial favor through honorific coin issues. The Conventus of Sardis administered judicial and administrative affairs for the region, and civic mints within it often struck to mark the assizes held there.

The ethnic ϹΑΙΤΤΗΝΩΝ confirms the issuing authority unambiguously. ΥΛΛΟϹ likely references a local magistrate, the naming of whom was standard practice for civic accountability in the Greek east.
