Obverse description Laureate and draped bust of Septimius Severus facing right, the emperor depicted with characteristic curled beard and hair rendered in fine granular style typical of provincial Severan coinage. The effigy occupies the central field with the circumferential Greek imperial titulature distributed around the periphery. The portrait displays the bold, slightly stylized modelling characteristic of Bithynian civic mint output of the late 2nd to early 3rd century AD.
