| Obverse description | Laureate head of Emperor Septimius Severus facing right, rendered in the provincial style typical of Mesopotamian civic coinage. The portrait shows the emperor with characteristic short beard and laurel wreath. The Greek legend ϹΕΠ ϹΕΟΥΗΡΟϹ (Septimius Severus) is disposed around the effigy in the field. The flan is irregular, as is common for hammered provincial bronzes of this period and region. |

| Reverse description | An eight-rayed star set within a upward-opening crescent occupies the central field, a distinctive astral symbol strongly associated with the cult of the moon-god Sin at Carrhae. The Greek colonial legend ΚΟΛΩΝΕΙΑ Λ ΑΥΡ is disposed around the central device, referencing the Roman colonial status of the city. The design reflects the blending of Roman imperial authority with indigenous Mesopotamian religious iconography characteristic of Severan-era provincial coinage. |
