Reverse description Draped bust of Athena facing right, wearing a crested Attic helmet, presented as the divine patron deity of Eresus in the civic tradition of Lesbos. The bust is rendered in a bold, if somewhat crude, provincial style characteristic of small Aegean civic mints under the High Empire. The ethnic legend ΕΡΕϹΙ appears in the field, identifying the issuing community. The overall composition is typical of Hadrianic-era provincial bronzes from the conventus of Adramyteum.
