Obverse description Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Emperor Gordian III facing right, depicted from behind, displaying the paludamentum and cuirass in typical provincial style. The imperial effigy occupies the central field, with the Greek legend disposed around the periphery. The portrait renders the youthful emperor with characteristic provincial workmanship, the laurel wreath clearly articulated atop the head.

Reverse description Heracles, depicted nude and standing to the right, grapples with the Nemean lion in the first of his canonical Twelve Labours; the hero is shown bending the beast back with his powerful frame, gripping the lion's neck in a stranglehold. The composition fills the central field with dynamic energy, characteristic of Mysian provincial coinage. The ethnic legend of the issuing city is disposed around the periphery of the field.
