Obverse description Draped bust of Athena facing right, wearing a crested Attic helmet. The bust is rendered in the local Athenian provincial style, with visible drapery folds across the shoulder and chest. A dotted border surrounds the field. No legend appears on the obverse, consistent with Athenian civic bronze coinage of the Gallienic period.

Reverse description Athena advancing right, head turned back over left shoulder in the Promachos attitude. Her left arm passes through the strap of a round hoplon shield while her left hand grasps a spear held diagonally; her right arm is extended outward to the right. A serpent rises in the right field, a characteristic Athenian civic symbol. The ethnic legend ΑΘΗΝΑΙΩΝ (of the Athenians) appears in the field.
